Match report:
Once upon a time on a sunny Saturday afternoon, the mighty DCU took to the fields of the distant land of Homerton, ready to taste the tantalising tingle of triumph. And taste it they did.

Match report:
A lovely day for ultimate with very little wind and temperatures bizarrely high for the time of year. We played virt and man, with some L-stacking leading to easy scores. There was a ridiculously long point in the middle of the match - anyone on that point should be extremely proud! You're all doing really well and improving a lot - I'm really looking forward to further improvement in lent. Catz won with a catch that was initially disputed, but the issue was resolved quickly and professionally.

Match Report:
Conditions today were very windy which made throwing/catching very difficult, particularly for beginners, but our freshers coped amazingly! We had a very large squad in the end with more than 2 full lines. The majority of ARU had played for 2 years at least - in fact i don’t think they had any freshers - so we did very well given the circumstances.

DCU 4 : 10 Homegrown
MVP: David Sydenham
The match started out well with a good turn out, enough for over 2 full lines of 7 and a great mixture of experienced and new players. It was pretty windy as we started the game and we took the first point going downwind. After trading points homegrown secured an upwind break which we were never able to counter due to an effective zone defense. At half Homegrown had the lead 7-4 and following that went on to secure the win at 10-4.

First year is quite a journey. As is customary during Freshers “week” you mingle with other people in your year, and various clubs and societies try to rope you into joining, with stalls, leaflets and freebies to lure you in. With so much to experience in such a short time, how on earth did I end up signing for Downing College Ultimate?
