Final Score: Downing Gryphons 10- 7 Churchill Chillies

On a drizzly half waterlogged Jesus Green last Saturday, you gryphons came roaring out of the blocks and raked into Churchill Chillies, quickly putting 3 points over them without reply. Our D was some of the best I've ever seen DCU come out with and we had the O to match our first offensive point being over in under thirty seconds if I remember correctly.
Churchill then woke up and replied in kind, putting their nippy fresher James (who many of us had noticed playing for SB seconds at regionals last month) to good use in our endzone making it 3-1.We then proceeded to trade back and forth for a bit, maintaining our lead but no longer steamrolling Churchill as we were to begin with. Our D was still solid though, I don't remember any howling errors from us, Churchill just turned their O up a notch. Bearing in mind they are one of the best teams in the CLeague, I think we did a great job of containing them. There was rarely an unpressured throw from a handler and their cutters had us breathing down their necks the whole game. At 5-4 Tejas called a crucial time out for us to regroup and put a stop to Churchill's gathering momentum. We came back out strong and put paid to their comeback with two quick points taking half at 7-5.
At 9-6 time went and we were looking to strike the killing blow. After one more point from Churchill, we did just that hitting the soft cap at 10-7 and ending a tough wet game of ultimate with the gryphon rampant and holding one of the biggest scalps in the CLeague (besides ours of course :D).
