The match started out well with a good turn out, enough for over 2 full lines of 7 and a great mixture of experienced and new players. It was pretty windy as we started the game and we took the first point going downwind. After trading points homegrown secured an upwind break which we were never able to counter due to an effective zone defense. At half Homegrown had the lead 7-4 and following that went on to secure the win at 10-4.

The game was really encouraging, these guys are arguably the best team in the league with many(or most?) of their players having significantly over 5 years experience, so to come away a scoreline like this is still a stunning result for our first match of term and many players first ever match.
